Susan D. “Sue” Lynn, 48, of 4068 Maier Avenue in Iowa City, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service with Reverend Judy Gingerich officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the West Chester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a fund established in Susan’s name to benefit pet owners who cannot afford to have their pets spayed or neutered.

Sue was born January 11, 1956 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene & Roberta “Pinky” (Gier) Lynn. She graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1974. She has been employed by Lear Corporation in Iowa City since 1974 and for the past 20 years in the receiving department. She had been a resident of Iowa City since 1975.

Sue had a zest for life and loved spending time with both family and friends.
She had an infectious laugh and smile and unconditionally did not judge others.
Sue maintained a passion for the well being and safety of animals. Upon meeting Sue, she had the ability to befriend you for life!

Survivors include her fiancé, Jim Butler & his son Benjamin of Iowa City; her mother, Roberta “Pinky” Lynn of West Chester; one brother, Robert Lynn of West Chester; three sisters, Dixie Emmert & her husband Phillip of West Chester, Donna Lippard of North Liberty and Sallie Stockstell & her husband Jeff of Washington, Iowa; one niece, six nephews; a black lab Sam Butler and a dachshund, Oscar Lynn.

Her father preceded her in death.
