Special to Times Republic

Iowa City, Aug. 14 – A team of horses frightened by a falling tongue, ran away here today, and frightfully injuring William Theobald, the ice man, who was driving them. His face was torn open by the tongue, and his jawbone was broken. His back was hurt, and ribs may be broken. Doctors are using X-ray, fearing the internal organs were hurt.
