Before an altar banked with white gladioli and purple asters Miss Loretta Anderson, daughter of Mrs. Marguerite Anderson of 720 East Burlington street, became the bride of Mr. Thomas J. Patterson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Patterson of 909 Webster street, on Monday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock in St. Patrick's church.

The double ring service was read by the Rev. Msgr. Patrick J. O'Reilly. One hundred twenty-five guests attended the wedding.

Miss Annabell Rogers, organist, played the Lohengrin wedding march and the recessional by Mendelssohn. She accompanied Miss Maty Ann Albrecht of Iowa City who sang Schubert's "Ave Maria."

The bride entered the sanctuary on the arm of her brother, Mr. John Anderson of Iowa City. She wore a white crepe dress fashioned with a V-neckline and cap sleeves. Embroidered flowers completed the sleeve design.

Miss Anderson wore a white horse hair hat styled without a crown and with a wide brim. She carried a bouquet of white sweet peas which was centered with an orchid and tied with white and lavender streamers.

Miss Lorna Anderson of Iowa City, the bride's twin sister, was the maid of honor. Miss Anderson wore an aqua mesh sheer two-piece dress styled with cap sleeve. Her half hat was of white horses hair. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and mixed sweet peas.

Mr. Charles Patterson of Iowa City was the best man. The ushers were Mr. Edward Pugh and Mr. Gene Fitzpatrick both of Iowa City.

Following the wedding a buffet dinner was served at 6 o'clock in the Hotel Jefferson. The bride's table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake which was topped with miniature bride and bridegroom. Bouquets of white and lavender asters and white tapers completed the table arrangement.

Hostesses were Miss Margaret Weepie of Independence and Miss Margaret Patterson of Iowa City.

Immediately after the reception the couple left for a two-week honeymoon which they will spend in northern Minnesota. For traveling the bride wore a black sheer crepe dress with white accessories and an orchid corsage.

Mrs. Patterson is a graduate of City high school and of the Mercy hospital school of nursing. She is now employed in the office of Dr. Stephen Ware.

Mr. Patterson graduated from St. Patrick's high school and served three years with the 91st infantry division. He is employed with Wagner's construction and building Co.
