MRS. C. JOHNSON CALLED BY DEATH
Former Resident Died In Des Moines At the Home of Daughter

Mrs. Charlotte JOHNSON passed away this morning at 8 o'clock in Des Moines from bronchial pneumonia, according to a telegram being received here by her son, W. S. JOHNSON. The body will be brought here to the JOHNSON home, 203 East Hempstead street for burial, complete arrangements not being made at this time.

Mrs. JOHNSON formerly resided here and she was the widow of Swan JOHNSON. For some time she had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Harry E. LORING in Des Moines. She is survived by four sons and three daughters.

MRS. C. JOHNSON RITES YESTERDAY
Were Held From the Home of her Son, W. S. JOHNSON

The last rites for Mrs. Charlotte JOHNSON, who died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry E. LORING in Des Moines were held yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock from the home of her son, W. S. JOHNSON, 203 East Hempstead street. Rev. George Parker of the Lutheran church officiated.

Mrs. William Neibert and Mrs. Glen Bates sang the songs. The pallbearers were: Charles H. Clapp, J. A. Wray, G. A. Anderson, Elmer Abbey, Hy Stark and Frank Shafer. Interment took place at Evergreen cemetery.

Those from a distance for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. LORING and Mr. and Mrs. O. R. JOHNSON and daughter of Des Moines, Mrs. J. A. JOHNSON and son of Davenport, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. JOHNSON of Brighton, Mrs. M. A. JOHNSON (sic - JOHNSTON) of Centralia, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. H. E. JOHNSON of Packwood, August JOHNSON of Perlee, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. STARK of near Batavia, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Rickard of Richland, Mr. and Mrs. William Klingaman and Lincoln LORING of Chicago.

Charlotte ANDERSON was born in Elfsberg Lane, Sweden and came to this country when she was a young girl.

She was united in holy wedlock to Swan JOHNSON in New York, later coming to Moline, Ill., and then to Brighton, Iowa. In the latter years of her life she resided on farms near Fairfield.

Mrs. JOHNSON was the faithful and devoted christian mother of eight children whose quiet delight was in doing her whole duty to her home and to her family. She was also a faithful member of the Swedish Lutheran Church of Four Corners, Iowa.

She was stricken with paralysis in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary LORING of Des Moines about a year and a half ago and was called to suffer a good soldier of Christ until her death which finally came from a short attack of pneumonia on the last day of the old year.

She was preceded in death by her husband twenty-eight years ago and her oldest son, J. Albert of Davenport, who died in May 1924. She is survived by her children who are Charles R. of Brighton, Mrs. Mary S. LORING of Des Moines, Henry E. of near Packwood, William S. of Fairfield, Mrs. Anna L. JOHNSTON of Centralia, Mo., Otto R. of Des Moines and Mrs. Edith T. STARK of near Fairfield. She is survived by nine grandchildren.
