Order Autopsy In JOHNSON Death

An autopsy has been ordered in the death of Charles S. JOHNSON, Fairfield resident found dead in bed at the Leggett hotel Sunday afternoon.

Coroner Jack Raymond said this morning there is no evidence of foul play but an effort is being made to find the cause of death.

JOHNSON's body was found about 4 p.m. Sunday by a hotel employee. City police and the highway patrol were summoned and they in turn called for the coroner. They estimated he had been dead about 48 hours.

Charles S. JOHNSON, 67, was born July 16, 1890, and was married to Mirl RICHASRDSON. She passed away January 31, 1955. He was a retired Malleable employee.

The body is at the Hoskins funeral home where services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. The Rev. George Meyers will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

JOHNSON is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James BABCOCK, who lives in Washington, D. C.

Note: Buried in the Public Grounds Section of Evergreen Cemetery, at the south end of Row 5. According to his Death Certificate, he died June 27th (specific time not known), from coronary arteriosclerosis and thrombus (blood clot); acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) resulting in acute cardiac failure. He was the son of Charles S. JOHNSON and Ann BYERS JOHNSON. Wife Lonie Mirl RICHARDSON JOHNSON is also buried at the south end of Row 5.
