Peter B. SALZMAN, 83, of rural Wayland, Iowa, was found at his residence on Thursday, April 15, 2021, to have passed away the previous day. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at the Salzman Family Plot at Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, is assisting Pete's family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com.

Peter Brent SALZMAN was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur Taylor and Frances Dana (CRANE) SALZMAN. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955 and attended two years at Iowa State University in Ames.

Pete entered the U.S. Army on Nov. 2, 1957. He was transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves on Aug. 7, 1962, and honorably discharged on July 31, 1963.

Pete was a longtime farmer who farmed the home place for over 40 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Ann (Ernest) FARRIER of Parma, Ohio, and Joan (Norman) CROWE of South Bend, Ind.; and a nephew, David FARRIER of Kernersville, N.C.

Pete's parents preceded him in death.
