S. C. COWAN (sic) DIED THIS MORNING

S. C. COWAN passed away at seven o'clock this morning at the home of his son J. S. COWAN northwest of the city. Mr. COWAN has been ill for several weeks and his death followed a stroke of paralysis.

Besides the widow and son, J. S. COWAN, a daughter ,Mrs. Dennis COLLINS survies (sic).

No arrangements for the funera lhave (sic) been made further than that it will be held some time Monday.

COWAN,--Silas C., an old and respected citizen of Fairfield, depart- this life Saturday at the home of his son, S. COWAN, who resides north of here. He has been suffering from a paralytic stroke for about a year and another stroke caused his death. Mr. COWAN is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Polly. Interment was make (sic) in the Evergreen cemetery.
