DEATH OF HUDSON LAWSON.

Hudson LAWSON was born in Lee County Virginia, November 17th, 1826, and died at his home in Liberty Township, May 21st, 1897, aged 70 years, 6 months and 4 days. Deceased was married to Miss Lydia HICKS, his now bereaved widow, March 1st, 1850. He moved to Iowa March 1st, 1857, settling within a quarter mile of where he died. He was the father of ten children, two of whom preceded him to the spirit world. Carter, William G., Alfred D., James F., Thomas H., Mrs. Lizzie HARNESS, Mrs. Amanda ADAMS and Mrs. Lucinda McCASLIN, were all present at his death bed, except Mrs. ADAMS of Pittsburgh, Pa., who arrived a short time later. He professed religion at an early age and was a faithful member of the Brethren Church at the time of his death. The funeral was held from the family residence, Sunday at 10 a.m., and his remains were laid to rest in the Cumberland Cemetery.....

Note: Wife Lydia died in 1924 and is buried beside him.
