Billy Dale Boyd
May 6, 1963 - April 15, 2026

Billy Dale Boyd, of Kellogg, Iowa, died April 15, 2026 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, leaving behind a lifetime of memories rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family. Born on May 6, 1963, in McComb, Illinois, Billy was the son of James Eugene Boyd and Linda Lee “Nancy” Lindberg. He grew up with a strong sense of humor and a sharp wit that would become one of his most cherished traits throughout his life.

Billy was a hardworking man who spent 20 years at Walmart, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of coworkers through his reliability and easygoing nature. No matter how long the day, he always seemed to come home with a story, a joke, or a clever comeback that kept everyone around him smiling.

Above all, Billy was a devoted husband and a deeply loving father. He shared his life with his wife, Karen Boyd, and took immense pride in his family. His daughter, Diane Jeanette Boyd, along with his extended family, knew him as someone who could always be counted on—not just for support, but for laughter when it was needed most. Billy love to fish and play video games with his daughter. His true joy came in the form of road trips he took with his wife, his daughter and mother-in-law. He loved going to the beach and traveling the back roads of Iowa with his wife and daughter. Billy had a way of keeping everyone on their toes with his quick humor and playful spirit, and those moments will be remembered just as fondly as his steady love and care.

He is also survived by his siblings, including Kenny Boyd, David Boyd, Brenda Jordan, and Karen Hartley, as well as many extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Linda Boyd, and his first wife, Debra (Byrd) Boyd in 2005.

Billy’s life was a reminder that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. It shows in the everyday moments—shared jokes, quick smiles, and the quiet presence of someone who cares deeply. His family loved him beyond words, and his memory will live on in the laughter he inspired and the love he gave so freely.

The time celebrating Billy’s life will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026 at the Pence - Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be designated in Billy’s name and left at the celebration.
