George William Myers
August 9, 1937 - April 8, 2026George William Myers, age 88 of Prairie City, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Pella Regional Health Center. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City. Burial will take place at Lowman Cemetery. The family will; greet friends on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Ambulance and the First Reformed Church. The son of Lloyd Joseph and Ruby Grace (Enderton) Myers, George was born on August 9, 1937, in Spencer, Iowa. He graduated from Marathon High School. In 1955, he purchased a farm near Runnells and began his farming career. On June 9, 1955, he was united in marriage to Susan Waldstein. George was a member of the First Reformed Church. George enjoyed golfing, fishing, wintering in Arizona for several years and riding around in his red pickup and calling his friends and family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 70 years, Susan; his children, Georgia (Mike) Hutchinson, Julie Grier and Dan (Phrana) Myers; six grandchildren, Emily (Mike) Newman, Luke (Jennifer) Clark, Jarod (Darcy) Baughman, Johnna (Scott Ferguson) Baughman, Stacy (Brent) Fridley, Brandon (Ashlee) Myers; 13 great grandchildren, Haley (Danny Ramer) Mapes, Ashley (Hunter) Fees, Brandon Newman, Elizabeth Clark, and Isabella Clark, Miley Baughman, Milly Baughman, Marley Baughman, Carson Myers, Dawson Myers, Jayden Fridley, Rylan Fridley and Bryson Fridley; four great great grandchildren, Taelynn, A.J., Locklyn, and Berklee. Also surviving is his sister, Donna Myers, Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, John Joseph Myers and a son-in-law, Roger Grier.
