William Joseph Gragg
September 1, 1972 - April 1, 2026

William Joseph Gragg, the son of Marvin Joseph and Elizabeth Ann (Williams) Gragg, was born September 1, 1972, in Newton, Iowa. He attended the Newton Senior High School.

William worked at TRS roofing for many years with a specialty for hot mopping, and was a forklift operator at Hackert’s wood products Inc for several years until his health began to decline. William mowed grass, shoveled snow, and did any odd job to make money growing up. His work ethic was undeniable. William enjoyed playing bingo, junking scrap metal with his boys, going out for breakfast, being outside with his family and friends, playing jokes/ pranks on his daughters, nieces and grandchildren, William loved 2% milk and crime shows. And he made the best tater tot casserole!

William died Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at his home in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was 53 years old. William was preceded in death by his father Marvin Gragg, his sister Kim Gragg, and his brother, Marvin Gragg, Sr.

Those left to honor William’s memory include his mother, Elizabeth Gragg; his girlfriend, Teresa Allison; and his children, Kenneth Gragg, Marvin Gragg, Vennessa Lanman, Jordon Gragg, Casey Allison; his grandkids, Summer Lanman, Zane Smith, Alicia Lanman.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the Union Cemetery in Newton. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
