Mark Schnell, 56, passed away Nov. 22, 2025. Private family service was arranged by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
Mark Brian Schnell was born May 1, 1969, to Richard and Linda (Van Weelden) Schnell.
Mark grew up in the Sully area and was a 1987 graduate of Lynnville-Sully High School. He went on to study radiation technology at DMACC and the University of Iowa.
Mark was married to Sheila Terlouw and together they welcomed two children: Mikayla and Austin. They later divorced.
Mark worked for Pella Corporation for 17 years and later for Pella Community Hospital.
Mark loved taking care of his ’94 Firebird and going to car shows. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and rarely missed a game. He was also a very proud father and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his family: Mikayla (Brandon) Kidman and Austin Schnell; and three grandchildren. Mark is also survived by his father Richard Schnell and his siblings Randy Schnell and Karlyn (Craig) Harthoorn.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother Linda Schnell.
Memorials may be given to Celebrate Recovery.
