Frank Otto Boden was born in Kellogg, Iowa, February 10, 1890. he was baptized in the Lutheran faith in his infancy by his own father who was the Lutheran pastor here at that time. In 1903 he was also instructed and confirmed in faith of the Lutheran church. He attended the public schools of Kellogg and was graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1905. Being an industrious and studious youth of high ideals he entered the State College at Ames and in 1912 completed a course in civil engineering. At this time he went to Oregon and Washington where he followed his profession.
Two years ago last February he took sick with diabetes. He was an inmate of a hospital for some time in Portland and in Chicago. A few days before his death his disease took on a more serious nature. The best of care and medical aid were in vain. He was summoned and he bravely answered. He passed this life quietly and peacefully on June 18, 1919, in a hospital at Oregon City, Oregon
He leaves to mourn his early loss, his mother, Mrs. Charlotte Boden of Kellogg, his two sisters, Miss Anna of Kellogg and Mrs. Starr G. Wilson of Odebolt, Iowa, and one brother, Oscar of Torrington, Wyoming.
Our hearts go out to them in sympathy in this hour of their bereavement
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. Reichen, Rev. J. G. Oltmann of State Center, Iowa preaching the sermon. Interment was made at the Lutheran cemetery, west of Kellogg.
