Maurice "Mo" Dale Tidball
January 3, 1940 - December 9, 2025

Maurice Dale “Mo” Tidball, age 85 of Des Moines, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Vandalia Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the VA Medical Center in Des Moines and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Floyd and Esther (Rojohn) Tidball. Maurice was born on January 3, 1940, in Monroe, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Cole on June 1, 1959, they later divorced. Maurice entered the United States Army in 1962 until 1964. Following his time in the service Maurice moved back to Des Moines and worked for the City of Des Moines in the Parks Department for 29 years until his retirement. He married Anita Thomas and they later divorced also. Maurice enjoyed trout fishing in Branson, Missouri and duck hunting in his younger years. Most of all he enjoyed being ornery. One of Maurice’s most memorable honors was to serve on the Honor Guard for John F. Kennedy's funeral.

Maurice is survived by his son, Myron (Tammy) Tidball; a granddaughter, Dr. Trista (Thad) Logan; a great grandson, Elliot Logan; a step son, Brian Thomas and two sisters, Arylis (Ralph) Curry and Marcella Tidball. Preceding him in death were his parents.
