David L. Warner Dies Saturday; Rites Tuesday
Newton – David Lee Warner, 41, of 313 E. 8th St. S., a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Saturday evening at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
Elder Vernon Hopkins, pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church of St. Louis, Mo., will conduct services. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in rural Baxter.
Memorial contributions to a fund in Mr. Warner’s name will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Angela, Rae Jean and Rhonda; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Warner of Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. Willard (Marilyn) Snook and Mrs. Richard (Lavonne) Sparks, both of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; and a sister, Esther.
Mr. Warner was a brick layer.
The son of Clarence V. and Mabel L. Hill Warner, he was born Oct. 29, 1940 in Farrar, attended Newton schools and was graduated in 1958 from Mingo Community High School.
He was married to Ruth Carson Jaennette April 28, 1982 in Des Moines.
