James R. Mullihan, 82, of Collins died of a stroke Wednesday at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Mr. Mullihan was born near Collins and lived most of his life there, where he farmed and did carpentry work before retiring in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Marge; a daughter, Linda Fernandez of Ankeny; a son, Lonnie of Bondurant; three sisters, Dorothy Plummer of Des Moines, Edna Clark of Iowa Falls and Delores Remick of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Marion of Collins; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Boyd-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Baxter, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
