Lawrence Greene, 93, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born December 7, 1918 in Monroe County to Lawrence and Elizabeth Greene. He was a friend of Bill W. for 42 years. Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching boxing. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Larry is survived by his wife, Edna; children, Bill (Kim) Greene, June (Terry) Hartson, Joe Greene, Donna (John) Knox, David Sille (nephew), Linda Needham and Kim Fields; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; five sisters; granddaughter, Jennifer Greene; son, Mike Greene; and daughter, Susan Kain.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Larry.
