Mrs. Roy Weston, Life-Time Jasper Resident, Is Dead
Baxter (Special) – Mrs. Roy Weston, 69, life-time resident of the Ira-Mingo neighborhood, died at 11 a.m. Sunday at Still hospital in Des Moines.
Mrs. Weston suffered a stroke approximately two weeks ago and was taken to the Des Moines hospital a week before her death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Chapel church located near Mingo. The Rev. Marshall Myers will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Union Chapel cemetery. Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home of Baxter will have charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Weston is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Dullard of Des Moines and Mrs. Howard (Helen) Cummings of Ames; three sons, Don Weston of Baxter, Orval Weston of Kellogg and John Weston of Mingo; a sister, Mrs. A. A, Southern of Newton and three brothers, J. A. Jones, C. E. Jones and Z. C. Jones, all of Newton. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The daughter of C. E. and Ella B. Jones, she was born Sept. 15, 1883 in the Ira neighborhood where she spent her childhood, attending rural schools south of Ira.
She was married to Roy Weston Nov. 18, 903 at Ira and moved to a farm in the Mingo vicinity where she resided until her death.
She was a member of the Ira Christian church, the Ira Garden club and the Ira Grange No. 2201.

Weston Family Is Hit by Bad Luck For Third Time
Barrett (Special) – An unusual string of bad luck has hit the O. S. Weston family of the Barrett community.
Their son, James Allan, who was born April 18 has been a patient at Blank Memorial hospital in Des Moines for more than two weeks and is seriously ill there.
In addition to that, Mrs. Weston’s mother, Mrs. Lottie Tippetts of Hastings, Nebr., died Saturday morning in Los Angeles while visiting a son there.
Then Sunday, Mr. Weston’s mother, Mrs. Roy Weston of Ira, died in Des Moines.
