Mrs. Emma Caroline Anderson was born July 31, 1861, at Des Moines, Iowa. Departed this life at her home at Ivy, Iowa, Oct. 19, 1914; age 53 years, 2 months, and 19 days.
She was united in marriage to Robert Anderson of Polk County, Iowa, May 27, 1885. To this union were born 9 children, 6 living, all being present, three have preceded her to Yonder’s World, (Carrie, and two infant sons.) Of those living, William H. the oldest, Chas. W., Mrs. Minnie Frost, Clara, Joseph and Frank.
Mrs. Anderson after marriage lived at Runnells for about three years, then moving with her family to the farm of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peters, residing there until 1913, then moved to Ivy, Iowa, where they remained till her lips were sealed in death. About seven years ago she united with Adelphi Congregational Church where she continued to hold her membership till the last.
She leaves to mourn her departure, a husband, four sons, two daughters, five grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters, and hosts of friends. She was a patient, tender-hearted and a loving mother, an affectionate and devoted companion, loved and respected by all who knew her.
