Colfax Boy Is Fatally Injured In Auto Crash
Lyle Normandin, 20, Colfax, died Thursday morning about 6:45 a.m. while being rushed to the Colfax Sanitarium, from injuries sustained in an auto accident on highway 64 between Prairie City and Colfax Wednesday night about midnight.
Glen Blanford was driver of the roadster, and says he was blinded by the dust of a passing car and hit a culvert, which upset the roadster. He suffered from shock and bruises, Melvin Guy sustained a long gash in his left leg, Helen Brew was bruised on one leg, and Audrey Henderson was uninjured.
Normandin’s injuries were not considered serious, and he was released with the others from the Sanitarium.
Thursday morning he complained of internal pains, and died while being taken to the hospital.
Funeral services for Normandin were held at Colfax Saturday afternoon, with Rev. Theodore Morning in charge.
Blanford and Guy, who were both seriously injured and believed to have suffered internal injuries, were reported to be getting along nicely the first of the week.
The car was not badly damaged and was able to proceed under its own power.
