Services Held for Andrew Vande Lune

Funeral services for Andrew Vande Lune, 78, of Prairie City, a lifelong Jasper County resident, were held Monday, June 25 at the Prairie City First Reformed Church. He died Saturday, June 213 at Clearview Manor.

The Rev. Daniel Ramaker, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Waveland cemetery at Prairie City.

Memorials may be left at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

Survivors are four daughters: Mrs. Marion (Lenora) Witzenberg of Dunkerton, Mrs. Dick (Barbara) Charls of Prairie City, Mrs. Dean (Phyllis) Cabbage of Baxter, and Mrs. Leslie (Ruth) Lourens of Altoona; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers: Gradus and Wilbert, both of Prairie City, John of Des Moines, and Paul of Grand rapids, Michigan; and two sisters: Mrs. Grace Van Dusseldorp of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Elma Steenhoek of Prairie City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Avice, a son, Ronald , a brother, Gerrit, and a sister, Margaret.

Mr. Vande Lune was a member of the Prairie City First Reformed church. He had been a farmer until his retirement.

The son of Auke and Dena Hollander Vande Lune, he was born October 29, 1905 in Jasper County. He was educated in rural schools.

He was married to Avice Vroom February 14, 1929 in Prairie City. ~ The Prairie City News, Prairie City, Iowa Thurs 28 June 1984.
