Hope Howell, 68, former Newton resident, dies

NEWTON - Mrs. Don (Hope) Howell, 68, of Mesa, Ariz., a former Newton resident, died recently at her home in Mesa.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Oakridge Cemetery at West Liberty.

Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty is handling arrangements.

Survivors are her husband, Don Howell of Newton; a daughter, Sp-5 Melanie Howell, stationed in Germany; three sons, Commander Stephen Howell of San Diego, Calif., and David Howell and Stuart Howell, both of Newton; six grandchildren; and a brother, William Allen of Muscatine.

Mrs. Howell, who had resided in Mesa for the past three year due to ill health, was affiliated with the Christian Church and was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star.

The daughter of William B. Hunt and Alvirda Allen, she was born June 29, 1913 in davenport. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 26 Apr 1982. Page 7
