Russell (Russ) William Gause, 73, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016.

He was born in Oskaloosa April 22, 1943, to the late Lory W. Gause and Helen D. Gause. Russ graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School in 1961, and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Houston in 1973.

Russ was raised in Lynnville. After graduating with his master’s degree he worked for the Western Oceanic working his way up to vice president; from there he went to owning several small businesses. In retirement, he was very involved with the Boy Scout Troop 514 and as treasurer and president of the Village Grove community association.

Those left to honor Russell’s memory include his wife, Susan Bandy; his five children, Robyn (husband Gary) Vaughan, Paul (wife Amy) Gause, Luke (fiance Danielle) Gause, Sam (partner Andreina) Gause and Josh (wife Riba) Gause; three grandchildren, Annie Vaughan, Scarlett Gause and Elliott Gause; and his siblings, Nancy Barnhouse, Lester (wife Kay) Gause, Bryce (wife Sheila) Gause and Joan (husband Gary) Ales; and sister-in-law, Peggy (Charles) Gause.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Lory Gause; and his siblings, Charles Gause and Jeanne Mays.
