Hold Rites for Mrs. Vasquez
Funeral services for Mrs. Felix Vasquez, 47, who died Thursday at the Skiff Memorial hospital, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Sacred Heart Catholic church by the Rev. Father T. J. McCann. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery.
A trio of Mary Dickinson, Mary Zwifelhofer and Frances Magyar sang “Sanctisema” and “Rose of the Cross” accompanied by Hortense Wells at the organ.
Mrs. Vasquez was born in Mexico in 1893 and was married in 1907. She and her family have been residents of Newton since 1919. Mr. Vasquez is employed as a Rock island section laborer.
Surviving are her husband, and five children, Mrs. Lupe Padillo, Raymond, Gregory, Consula and Natchio.
