Gary Timmons, age 80 of Prairie City, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Nelson Manor in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial with military rites will be held at Waveland Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 on Saturday morning at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or the Nelson Manor Activity Fund. The son of Gail and Myrtle (Dykstra) Timmons, Gary was born on September 29, 1935, in Prairie City. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1953. Gary proudly served in the United States Army. On December 31, 1995, he was united in marriage to Donna Campbell in Prairie City. Gary was a member of Pheasants Forever. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting mushrooms.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Donna; step children, Brenda Daily of Newton, Rodney Daily of Ira, and Gena Franklin of Newton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Timmons and Elva Timmons and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Gary in death were his parents; two brothers, Max and Harold Timmons and a daughter-in-law, Tammy Daily. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Prairie City, Iowa 7 Sept 2016.
