January 31, 1932 ~ September 4, 2016 (age 84)

Grace Buckles Bluck, 89, of Newton, died on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Newton Health Care Center. A memorial service for Grace will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 10 at Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. A visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, September 9 at the funeral home. Memorials to Preston United Methodist and Preston, MN Historical Society may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home, please add, Attn: Bluck Family on the envelope.

Grace, the daughter of Grant and Meta (Propp) Bollhoefer, was born January 31, 1932 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She grew up in the Laurel area, graduating from Van Cleve High School in Melbourne. In 1956, Grace was united in marriage with Robert Buckles, until his death in 1973. Through the years Grace took pride in being a farm wife, working in lawn care, doing cooking and custodial work, and being a teaching assistant.

In 1989, Grace was united in marriage to Robert Bluck and the couple moved to Preston, Minnesota. In Preston, Grace was an active member of the Preston United Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in the church activities. She was highly involved in historical preservation and was a member of the Preston Historical Society. In 2014, Grace moved back to Newton. She had a love for antiques and flower gardens.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Genevieve (Kelvin) Langmaid; two daughters-in-law, Sue Buckles and Carla Buckles; five grandchildren: Grant (Samantha) Langmaid, Jessica Langmaid, Annie Buckles, Robert Buckles and Hillary (Chris) McClurg; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Cameryn McClurg; her brother, David (Joyce) Bollhoefer; and her sister, Esther Schmidt.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Buckles; second husband, Robert Bluck; two sons, Andy and Ken Buckles; and a brother-in-law, Albert Schmidt. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 4 Sept 2016.
