October 16, 1935 ~ August 26, 2016 (age 80)

Marjorie Lou (Thompson) Norris, 80, of Newton, formerly of Omaha, died on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Accura Healthcare of Newton West. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Marjorie’s name may be left at funeral home.

Marjorie, the daughter of Ralph and Hazel Thompson, was born on October 16, 1935 in Bedford, Iowa. She lived in the Omaha area for a lot of her life and worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department of Willsie Cap and Gown Company for ten years, retiring in 1998. Marjorie enjoyed puzzle books and flower gardening.

Those left to honor Marjorie’s memory are her children, Russ Looney of Colfax, Allen Looney of California, Randy Looney of California, Rick (Jodie) Garrett of Newton, and Diane Garrett of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Katie Garrett of Omaha, Brittany Garrett and Rickie Garrett, both of Newton, Julie Doss of Council Bluffs, Dakota Colbertson of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Branden Colbertson of Omaha, and Shawn Colbertson of Council Bluffs; and her great-grandchildren, Carolina, Kena, Mason, Braden, Lexus, Colton, Nathen, and Alisa.
