Marion L. Kingery, age 92 of Monroe, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Burial will follow at Dunreath Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2015, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Monroe Fire and Rescue and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Nathan and Blanche (DeHaai) Kingery, Marion was born on November 1, 1922, in rural Monroe, Iowa. On March 9, 1949, Marion was united in marriage to Clella Margaret Simpson. He later married Betty Hodges Speck. Marion farmed most of his life and also worked at Maytag in Newton for 34 years. He served as a Red Rock Township Trustee for many years. He also served as a storm spotter. Marion was always fascinated with weather. He also enjoyed making things in his shop. His neighbors could often be seen hauling something to Marion to see if he could fix it and more time than not he could.

Those left to honor his memory include his two sons, David (Betty) Kingery and Jim (Kathy) Kingery both of Monroe; ten grandchildren, Chad Kingery, Craig Kingery, Jake Kingery, Darrel Kingery, Scott Busick, Brenda Gilchrist, Norman Busick and Donald and William Hodges and 15 great grandchildren.

Preceding Marion in death were his parents, both wives, three sisters, Marie Sowers, Martha Tennant, and Catherine Ocker and a brother, Sammy. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 29 Apr 2015.
