Brother of Resident Died

Joe M. Fitch, 65, of Des Moines died of a heart attack Wednesday, May 5, at home. Services were held Monday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Fitch was born in Leon and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He retired as an oiler and second burner with Monarch Cement Co. and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; three daughters, Linda Dershem of Des Moines, Joann Kurtz of Sacramento, Calif. and Kathy Fitch of Runnells; two sons, Rick and Danny, both of Des Moines; three brothers, Leo of Colfax, Gale of St. Louis and Junior of Des Moines; two sisters, Velta Pullen and Evelyn Ogden, both of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
