Claude H. Rodgers Dies Tuesday in Des Moines

Claude H. Rodgers, 63, of this city died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines Tuesday morning about 10 o'clock, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Mr. Rodgers had been in ill health since January, first suffering a heart attack, and had recently been hospitalized as a result of a blood clot, which claimed his life.

Mr. Rodgers was born in What Cheer, Ia., November 19th, 1892, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rodgers, and came to Colfax when a small boy. He attended the Colfax schools, and on October 11, 1917 was united in marriage to Opal Kline, the couple making this city their home. For many years, he operated the R & R Café, and the followed the restaurant business until World War II.
