Stanley Eugene Richeson, 82, of Baxter, died peacefully on the morning of April 19, 2015, at Baxter Health Care after a recent illness. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 at the Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter. A private family graveside service will be Wednesday, April 22 at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Stanley was born on July 16, 1932, to George Wright and Eva (Burch) Richeson in Marshalltown. He was raised on the family farm in Rhodes. Stanley attended school in Rhodes, and graduated with the class of 1950. Stanley was united in marriage with Norma Jean Garton on June 23, 1951. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in Long Beach, Calif., on the USS Menifee. He served during the Korean Conflict. When discharged in 1956, Stanley and Norma settled in Baxter, where they raised their five children. Stanley initially went to work with Davie Jones to build the town cement plant. He then was employed at Hubbard Lumber Co. in Baxter. He also worked as head custodian at Baxter Community School for a couple years. He ended his working career at the Rhodes Lumber Company. Stanley enjoyed spending time with his family, building and refurbishing furniture, gardening, reading and watching racing.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 years, Norma Jean Richeson of Baxter; Ricky Dean (Deanna) Richeson of Grimes, LuAnn Kay (James) Muhs of Baxter, Karla Jean (Pat) Malloy of Rhodes, Traci Lea (Jody) Bestell of Baxter; grandchildren Amy Sash, Adam Sisson, Amanda Andrews, Rebecca Andrews, Justin Richeson, Lucas Hewitt, Stephanie Muhs, Casey Harned, Mike Malloy, Carrie James, Dustin and Hunter Bestell; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Wrightabelle Grossman; mother-in-law Coy Garton; and sisters-in-law Karen (Dean) Flora, Gerry Garton and Ruby Richeson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Alice Corrine; granddaughter Mackenzie Bestell; brothers Ronald, Gerald and Donald Richeson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.

Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter has been entrusted with the care of Stanley and his family. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 20 Apr 2015.
