Burial Service A private family burial will be held at the St. Johns Cemetery in rural Newton at a later date.

Visitation Service At the funeral home
Wednesday, April 1st, 2015 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Memorial Service At the First United Methodist Church, 210 N. 2nd Ave. E. in Newton. To honor Wayne’s Memory family and friends may feel free to wear Wayne’s favorite outfit, jeans and a white t-shirt. Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 2:00pm

Those left to honor Wayne’s memory are his wife of 61+ years, Catherine of Newton; children, Debra (Tim) Chance of Newton and Scott (Julie) Tinnermeier of Galion, Ohio; his three grandchildren, Melissa (Darin) Kramer of Grimes, Iowa, Matthew Marchant (KayLea Zumbach) of Newton and Luke Tinnermeier of Galion; two great-grandchildren, Karlee Rebik of Grimes and Brayin Kramer of Grimes; his three sisters-in-law, Jean Tinnermeier of Fort Collins, Colorado, Marilyn Boulicault of Newton and CeCe Smith of North Tonawanda, New York; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven Wayne Tinnermeier; brother, Ron Tinnermeier; sister, Ruth Lust; sisters-in-law, Doris Versteegh, Margaret Hevlin and Sally Smith; brothers-in-law, Leo Versteegh, Raymond Hevlin, Edward Smith, Tom Smith and Larry Lust; niece, Barb Ealey; and nephew, David Versteegh.

Wayne was a graduate of Newton High School in 1952 and he had attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Wayne was a farmer for 45 years, retiring on December 3, 1999.

Wayne was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, Jasper County Farm Bureau, Jasper County Historical Society, Wittenberg Grange, St. Johns Cemetery Board and was a Newton Township Trustee. He liked to square dance, fish, play cards, play chess, ride horses, go boating, Dog Jaw, was a jokester, liked races, and new born animals.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Jasper County 4-H Fair Grounds or to the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League or to Skiff Hospice. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the afternoon of the service.
