Rooda, Donna – 1943-1993

Donna Rooda, 49, of Otley, a former Prairie City resident, died of cancer Wednesday, January 6, 1993 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9 at the Otley Reformed Church. The Rev. Dave Hensley conducted the services. Burial was in Portergrove Cemetery in rural Pella. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella handled arrangements.
Memorials to the Otley Reformed Church are being accepted.
Survivors include her husband, Hank; her mother, Helen Noon of Prairie City; two daughters, Sherry Frost of Siler City, North Carolina and Laura (Mrs. Kent) Dunsbergen of Newton; a son, Gregory of Pensacola, Florida; three grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Mrs. Don) Green of Des Moines, and Betsy (Mrs. Russell) Ferris of Conrad; and a brother, Dale Noon Jr. of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Noon Sr.
Mrs. Rooda had been employed in the Pella Community Hospital dietary department for 13 years.
She was a member of the Otley Reformed Church.
The daughter of Dale and Helen Jarnagin Noon, she was born July 8, 1943 in Prairie City.
She was married to Henry (Hank) Rooda August 29, 1961 in Pierre, South Dakota. The couple had lived in the Des Moines and Prairie City areas before moving to Otley in 1964
