James Edward Taylor, 57, of Des Moines, a former longtime resident of the Mitchellville and Prairie City area, died Saturday, November 21, 1992 at his home in Des Moines.
Graveside memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 25 at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. The Rev. Walter Grimes, pastor of the Mitchellville Christian Church, conducted the services. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
Cremation has taken place.
Survivors are a son, Daniel of Runnells; a daughter, Debra Kae De Boef of Mitchellville; his father, Keith W. Taylor of Mitchellville; and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Keith LeRoy of Mitchellville and a sister, Patricia Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Taylor had farmed for a number of years in the Mitchellville area, and had moved to Des Moines two years ago.
He was a former member of the Mitchellville Volunteer Fire Department, was a former member and president of the Mitchellville Jaycees and was former member of the Mitchellville planning and zoning board.
The son of Keith W. and Edrie Long Taylor, he was born March 25, 1935 in Mitchellville.
