Morris, Bernice Marie Sonius – 1912-1945

Baxter – Mrs. Bernice Marie Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Sonius, was born May 16, 1912, at Spencer, Iowa.
She received her education at Spencer, Iowa, graduating from the Spencer High school in 1929.
On June 4, 1930, she was united in marriage to William B. Morris. To this union was born three children, LaVonne Faye, William, Jr., and Clarence.
Mrs. Morris died at the Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown, Iowa, on Nov. 17, 1945. At the time of her death she was 33 years of age.
Mrs. Morris was an active church member, having been a Sunday school teacher and the Secretary of the Teacher’s Class in the Congregational church of Baxter, Iowa. In June 1941 she became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, presiding as Associate Conductress for a period of one year and Conductress up to the time of her death in the Amethyst Chapter of Baxter, Iowa.
Surviving beside her husband and three children, are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Sonius, Spencer, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Anna E. Morris, Dunlap, Iowa; her brothers, Wesley and Donald Sonius; her sisters, Mrs. Alice Taylor, Mrs. Gladys Meikle, Mrs. Evelyn Diller, and Mrs. Beulah Ulmer.
