TRAGER – Died Monday, Oct. 28, 1878, Effie L. Trager, daughter of Purdy and Phebe Trager, aged 8 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Our darling has left a broken link in life’s bright golden chain;
A heart more true, more kind than hers we ne’er shall meet again.
Not in the confines of the tomb her Heaven-born spirit lies;
Ah, no! An angel lent her wings to bear it to the skies.
Our darling has gone to those she loved, dear union with the blest;
In that immortal world of song, of sweet, unbroken rest.
Our darling has gone, and while her loss our stricken hearts deplore,
Be this our balm, a hope of joy we’ll meet where parting is no more.
