Funeral services for Albert R. Gritton, 74, Maquoketa, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 6, 1994 at Hayden-O'Hara and Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, with burial in the Sacred Heart cemetery, Maquoketa.
Mr. Gritton died June 30 at his home.
The son of Norman Levi and Etta Estella Ford Gritton, he was born April 7, 1920 in Tipton. He married Agnes Elaine Cooper Nov. 1, 1969 in East Dubuque, Ill. She died Feb. 14, 1994.
Mr. Gritton was a machinist at Red Jacket in Davenport for 17 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Maquoketa.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Janice (Mrs. Kent) Strackbein, Lowden and Debra (Mrs. Clint) Harms, Aurora, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Patti (Mrs. Mike) Fahrenkrug, DeWitt; a stepson, Jeff Adams, King Salmon, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Vella Dickinson, Mrs. Ethel (Archibald) Safley, and his twin sister, Alberta Dugger, all of Tipton; and Mrs. Gladys (Gene) King, Solon; and a brother, Howard, Clarence. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, 3 brothers and a sister.
