Carol Jean Schroeder, 42, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at St. Luke's Methodist Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Services will be at noon Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus, Iowa, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

She was born on March 15, 1964, in Dubuque, daughter of Eldon C. and Vera (Morrette) Schroeder Sr.

She worked at Goodwill Industries, Dubuque.

Carol was a very giving person who enjoyed collecting teddy bears and was a good cook. She loved to sing and loved country and western music.

Her family meant a great deal to her.

Surviving are a sister, Shirley (Bill) Schroeder, of Dubuque; three brothers, Eldon Schroeder Jr., of Monona, Wis., Robert Schroeder, of Peosta, Iowa, and Dale E. Schroeder, of Dubuque; a special friend, Jerry; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew.
