MICHAEL REGAN-
The last summons came to Michael Regan about 6 o'clock Sunday evening, June 25, 1916, at his home west of LaMotte. He has been in poor health for some time and gradually gave way to his afflictions until the final message came. Michael Regan was born in Limerick, Ireland, September 15, 1846. When about nine years of age on July 12, 1855, he with his parents landed in New York. He remained in Litchfield County, Connecticut, where he attended school until June 1862, in that year they moved to Marquette County, Michigan, where he worked for three years mining. In 1865 he came to Dubuque and the 4th of March, the same year he came to Richland Township, Jackson County, where he has since resided, being one of our most successful farmers. On February 3, 1874, he was united in marriage to Miss Jane Ryan, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. To this union, eight children were born as follows: Elizabeth, Jennie, Thomas, Nora, Mamie, Michael, Edmund and John, all with the grief stricken wife survive to mourn the death of a husband and father, except Miss Nora, who died in infancy.
