JAMES PROSSER DEAD
James Morgan Prosser, a pioneer of the county passed away at 12:30 Sunday at the home of his son, Richard Prosser on South Main Street, Maquoketa. Mr. Prosser had been in ill health for two months. On Saturday he suffered a third stroke of paralysis from which he never rallied.
James Prosser was born in Wisconsin, April 5, 1849, and came to Iowa in 1854. He was married here to Miss Rebecca Cartee , who passed away 19 years ago and since her death he has made his home with his sons. Mr. and Mrs. Prosser were the parents of four children, Ernest, who died at the age of four years; Maude, who died at the age of 19 years; Richard and James, both of Maquoketa.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at two o’clock from the home, Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
