GABEL RITES AT ANDREW
Funeral Services Held Tuesday

ANDREW- Funeral services were held at Salem Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock for William C. Gabel, Rev. H. A. Diers, pastor, officiating with burial in the Andrew cemetery.
Pall bearers were Chester Huffman, Pete Regenwether, Elmer Tebbe, H. A. Ehl, Wm Wies and Pete Weimerskirch.
William C. Gabel was born in Germany, Oct. 9, 1861 and came to America at the age of 6 years and settled in this community. On March 12, 1889 he was married to Anna F. Ostert at the Lutheran church in Andrew. To this union seven children were born. They are: John of Illinois; Louie of Preston; William of Delmar; Edward of Sioux City; Car of Chicago; Mrs. Harry Berg of Spragueville; and Lula at home.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and has always resided in this community. He passed away at his home south-east of Andrew, Feb. 6, 1943 at 3:20 a.m. Mr. Gabel had been in poor health the past five years. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, five sons; two daughters; one brother Charles Gabel, of Hawkeye, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Anna Hoovler, Waterloo, Iowa; one brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
