Kirby Neal Tuttle was born December 24, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Howard Jr. and Cleo (Young) Tuttle. Kirby graduated from Iowa Valley High School and went on to attend trade school, where he trained as a diesel mechanic.

Kirby owned and operated Dusty's restaurant for many years. Kirby also worked at Whitey’s Oil Company in Marengo. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and had a special fondness for his John Deere 300 series mowers. Above all, Kirby cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

Kirby died Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 70 years.

He is survived by his son, Nathan (Jessica) Tuttle of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Oliver and Suzanna Tuttle; and his brother Kenny Tuttle of Marengo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kurtis Tuttle.

Services will be at a later date. Burial will be at the Marengo Cemetery. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Marengo are caring for Kirby and his Family. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
