Meredeth “Mary” Kay Huber, 55, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be 2-5 PM Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Masonic Lodge #175 in Belle Plaine, IA. A private family burial has taken place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Ladora. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
Mary was born January 2, 1970, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Letta (Doran) Huber. She grew up in Marengo, where she attended Iowa Valley High School. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Mary spent many years as a waitress before working in home health care with Home Instead of Cedar Rapids, where she found joy in caring for others.
Mary had a lifelong love of animals, especially horses and dogs. She also had a special way with children and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Known for her kind and forgiving nature, Mary truly had a heart of gold. Above all, she deeply loved her children and never let a day pass without reminding them of that love.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
Mary is survived by her children, Kendra Thede and Tavien Thede; six siblings; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dillon Thede; niece Bella Loffer.
