Michelle Lynn Starcevich, 30, of 6401 Kirkwood Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, as a result of injuries due to an accident. Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, by Rev. Mark Reasoner and Deacon LaVerne Flagel. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time, Monday at the church. Following the service, friends are invited to the church hall for a time of refreshments and sharing.

Survivors include her parents, Mick and Linda Starcevich of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Matthew James Starcevich of Fairfax; a nephew, Colby James; Colby’s mother, Jodi Lint; her grandparents, Elizabeth Lownes of Denison, Iowa, and Milton and Anne Starcevich of Cedar Rapids; an aunt, Mary Grabowski of Chicago, Illinois; two uncles, Randy Lownes (Jan) of Colorado and Kirby Lownes of Ames; her cousins, Marlo, Megan, Shawn, Jason, Justin, Jeremy and Andy; and two special friends, Phyl Britcher and Kevin Joens.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Raymond Lownes.

Michelle was born September 5, 1977, the daughter of Mick and Linda (Lownes) Starcevich, in Waterloo, Iowa. A graduate from Prairie High School, Michelle worked the past eight years at Prairie High School in the food service department. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed all areas of athletics, especially the Cedar Rapids Kernels, Kirkwood Eagles and Prairie Hawks, where she has been the girls basketball manager for the past 14 years.

Michelle shared her love of life as an organ and tissue donor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prairie Schools Foundation, 401 76th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 or to the Kirkwood Foundation, 6301 Kirkwood Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404, in memory of Michelle.
