Gary Neil Netser was born April 8, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Donald Wayne and Elsie Leta (Ambrose) Netser Sr. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1970 and attended the University of Iowa. Gary served in the US Army as an MP, stationed in Germany for two years. On August 20, 1976, Gary was united in marriage to Kathy Lou Morrison at the Methodist Church in Iowa City.

Gary owned and operated his own trucking business for 15 years, before working in quality control as a head lab tech at LL Pelling for 25 years. He enjoyed farming, music, Iowa Hawkeye basketball, various recreational activities and spending time with his grandchildren. Gary died on Monday, July 15, 2024, at his home near North English, at the age of 72 years.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of North English; a son David (Angel) Robison of Milton, Florida; two daughters Amber (Martine Cervates) Netser of Parnell and Ryann (Kevin) Jones of Deep River; eight grandchildren Katelyn, Ethan, Cody, Dylan, Salina, Acacia, Cohen and Kendal; two great grandchildren Desmond and Willow; three sisters Janice Trumpold of Marengo, Becky (Mike Driscoll) Trieschmann of Williamsburg and Debra Netser of Marengo; and a brother Jeff Netser of North English; a brother-in-law Lynn (Pam) Morrison of North English; and a sister-in-law Carol Morrison of Belle Plaine.

He was preceded by his parents; father & mother-in-law Jim & Janet Morrison; two brothers Donald Netser Jr. and Fred Netser; two brothers-in-law Henry Trumpold and Jim Morrison; and a nephew Tucker Morrison.

Celebration Of Life Service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will follow in the Piersol Cemetery, near North English. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Holden’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in Iowa City.
