Donna Mae Collingwood was born November 14, 1933, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Orlo and Winifred (Hoyt) Mitchell. Donna graduated from Marengo High School in 1951, and then attended UNI Teachers College. Donna was united in marriage to Howard Dean Collingwood on June 12, 1955, in Williamsburg. Donna taught 2nd grade at Belle Plaine before staying home to raise her family. While raising her family, she also was a substitute teacher for Lutheran Interparish School and Williamsburg Community Schools, she served as a church librarian, and decorated cakes for all different occasions. Donna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg where she was active in the quilter’s guild, LWML, and started the “His Too” class leading it for over 30 years. She was a leader of the Williamsburg 4-H Clovers for several years. Donna enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, and spending time with her family. Donna passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, at the age of 90 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Wooster (Larry) of St. Peter, IL; son, Kevin Collingwood of Marengo; granddaughter Dr. Elizabeth Wooster-Pierson (Michael) of Pella; two great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Ethan Pierson; and two sisters, Janet Zahrt (Denny) of Bettendorf and Jolayne Kraft (Bill) of Norcross, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard, and a sister, Angela Rathjen.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 21, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A Memorial Fund has been established for Lutheran Interparish School and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
