Ardes June Gibson was born June 29, 1930, in Allegan, Mich., the daughter of G. Gerald and Anna Clara (Westfall) Gibson. She attended school in Allegan, graduating with the Class of 1948 from Allegan High School.

She married Jack Glen McIntire in Allegan, where they made their home. The family moved to Fairfield, Iowa, when Jack's work with Rockwell took him there. They resided here for many years, later moving back to Allegan and then moving to Williamsburg, Iowa, upon retirement. Ardes moved to North Liberty following Jack's death.

Ardes made friends wherever she went. She rejoiced in visits with family and longtime and newly made friends. She always had a song in her heart and loved to share her beautiful voice with one and all. She cherished the title of wife, mother, grandma and great-grandmother (GG) with pride and distinction. She was active in the various churches, especially the choirs, in the communities she lived, was a longtime member of PEO, and enjoyed her many friends through bridge clubs, bowling and golfing. Her passion for nature was reflected in the cards she crafted by drying various flowers and wildflowers. She was a beautiful soul who loved her life and was loved by so many.

Her family includes her three daughters, Colleen Moore (RJ), Sherri Pitkin and Jody Mineart (Ken); grandchildren, Gary McIntire (Shannon), Greg McIntire (Cristy), Meghan Settje (Chris), Jennifer Moore (David O'Donnell), Joshua Moore (Michelle Day), Matthew Pitkin (Jennifer), Ashley Klopfenstein (Vince) and Samantha Robertson (Dan); great-grandchildren, Ian and Mia McIntire, Devin Settje, Kael O'Donnell, Katelynn Watts, Dani and Laney Kasper, Ava, Jonny and Evan Pitkin, Casen and Jay Klopfenstein and Braelyn Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Ronald; son-in-law, Rick Pitkin; granddaughter, Courtney McIntire; sister, Vivian Duryea; and two brothers, George and Woodrow Gibson.
