Norma Jean Chilcote, 85, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away March 30, 2021 at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, IA.

Norma was born November 12, 1935 in Oskaloosa, IA to Clifford and Juanita (Beach) Leathers. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Delta Community School. Following school, Norma worked as a seamstress at Big Smith Overhaul Factory in Oskaloosa where she met Clifford Chilcote. The couple married on February 1, 1957. Norma went to work for Amana Refrigeration as a line worker, and owned and operated NC Cleaning in Amana with her husband.

She enjoyed flowers, canning and loved to dance. Most of all she cherished spending time with family, camping, boating, traveling or just being together.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Gloriane Chilcote-Carkhuff and Cynthia (Ty) Ford-Miller both of Belle Plaine; granddaughter, Samantha Jean (Jon) Aldrich, grandsons, Russell Carkhuff, Josh (Alexa Ravetti) Carkhuff; great-grandsons, William and Weston Aldrich; sister Lynn (Larry) Crouse of Sigourney; brothers, Mike (Donna) Leathers of Burlington and Tim Leathers of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Juanita Leathers; and husband Clifford E. Chilcote.
