Obituary
The news of the death of Leo Henneberry, which occurred at his home here Monday morning, came as a great shock to his many friends in this vicinity. Mr. Henneberry, at the time of his death was thirty-seven years of age, and was the son of the late Michael and Mrs. Mary Henneberry of Gilmore City. Nine years ago he was united in marriage with Miss Marie Casey. He is survived by his widow, his mother, two sisters, Mrs. P. H. Ford and Mrs. George Hood, two brothers, Thomas Henneberry of Gilmore City [only one brother listed]. A sister, Mrs. Mike Loftus and a brother, Will Henneberry, preceded him in death. The funeral was held Wednesday morning in St. Matthew’s Catholic church at 9 o’clock. The Rev. Father T. M. Parle had charge of the service. Leo Henneberry was widely known and liked by all who had the honor of his acquaintance, being a pleasant, honest fellow of firm convictions and straight forward ways. By his untimely death the community loses one of its very best citizens. – Manson Journal. [Source – Gilmore City Enterprise, Gilmore City, Iowa, Thursday, March 6, 1930, p.1]
