Kate Pauline Virginia Luger was born in the city of Philadelphia, Penn. August 13th, 1852 where she lived until 20 years of age when she came with her parents in 1872 to Dakota City, Iowa.

June 10, 1880 she was united in marriage to Harry P. Cragg at Dakota City, Iowa. They immediately went to Brainerd, Minnesota where they lived nine years and then returned to Iowa, coming direct to Eagle Grove, where she has since lived.

Her sad demise came peacefully surrounded by all her family Feb. 10, 1909, at 11 a. m. after four days illness of heart disease and pneumonia, being 56 years of age. She was a firm believer in the Christian faith having united with the Methodist Church at an early age. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her aged husband, three sons, Charles H. Cragg aged 27, Clarence Earl aged 22, Floyd Elmer aged 20, one sister Mrs. William Cragg living at Dakota City, Iowa, one brother living at Ft. Dodge Iowa, two nieces Mrs. Ernest McDonough of this city and' Mrs. William Lock of Dakota City, Iowa, and two nephews, Harry Cragg of Dakota City, Iowa and Geo. W. Cragg of Mason City, Iowa. She was a loving wife and a kind mother ever sacrificing her own personal comfort for that of her family. Forsaking the social affairs of life and devoting her entire time to the care of her home and the comfort of those she loved. This is the tribute of her husband and her sons who loved and cherished her.

Their one sincere hope is that they can form a reunion with her in heaven.
